Nothing on this page is mandatory but is designed to keep you engaged in the material that we would be learning in class. As you can see there is a page for SAL Review. This may not be a requirement this year but I will let you know when I hear something. If you go to the bottom of this page, Modern America is our current unit and we will pick up there when we come back.

Units
A New Nation
This is the very first unit of the year. We go back all the way to the first Europeans to arrive in America. We discuss the individuality of the colonies, the causes of the Revolution and reasons for victory, as well as the Constitution and its influences.
Civil War
This unit during November and December, covers the Civil War. It started with the expansion of the country which we know is a main cause of the Civil War. Ending with Reconstruction this unit shows us the origins of the Civil Rights Move.
World Conflict
We covered this unit during January and part of February and it covers the Turn of the Century, WWI, the Great Depression, and WWII. We will look at each individually and then look at the effects of the world at war in the next unit.
Modern America
This was the last unit of the year and it covered all of the third quarter. It includes the Cold War, the Civil Rights Movement, and Modern America. This unit tries to tie up as many loose ends as possible. We end with 9/11.
